The sifa (Swiss Association of Amateur Filmmakers) is active in German-speaking Switzerland, mainly in north-eastern Switzerland. The smaller radius of the activities quickly creates a personal closeness between the film authors and the audience.
The recognition of film authors is an important concern for sifa. This ambition was also pursued Europe-wide in 1977 until 2019 with the Eurofestival.
